About This Resource
Dot Card Addition is an interactive activity that helps students link written numerals with dot-card representations. It supports the transition from dot-card number recognition to basic addition practice.
Teachers, tutors and parents can use the resource for quick warm-ups, guided practice or targeted intervention. The activity has been used with small intervention groups and in 1:1 settings to check number-to-dot matching and addition set-up.
This resource supports learners with dyslexia, dyscalculia and other learning difficulties who need concrete visual representations. Dot Card Addition focuses on making number patterns explicit and on practising addition using familiar dot arrangements.
The download contains the interactive dot-card activity and matching tasks ready for classroom use. Teachers can use the cards for oral questioning, paired practice or short intervention sessions to build fluency in recognising and adding small numbers.
(Note that individual student access requires a separate purchase of the student portal.)
